So, my last post was an introduction into the PGM (Parti-Gyle Method) and what it is, how it works etc etc…
This post is an explanation of my research and what I’ve got planned for the first PGM batch I’m planning on doing.
So, its been a while since I’ve posted anything. Life gets in the way of all the good stuff… But since I’m here again and I’ve been geeking out about something to do with brewing I figured I’d better share it with you all as its been a revelation for me!
After jonesing for a brew day for a while, (I look after my little boy a lot of the time as the wife works 12 hour shifts, I dont get to do them often) I managed to have a brew morning yesterday, and after some careful deliberation with my brewing brother HisDudeness, I decided to push the malt envelope (for me anyways) and see if I could deal with the thin body issues Ive been having with recent beers…
So, during the brewathon, I again had ideas. I really need to stop doing that, I almost never seem to end with a logical brew… This one however I am very happy with as a first attempt. The next iteration will be bigger and better than ever, see ChemCast 6 for details on the plan for that one…
So, during the brewathon, I had some ideas, and unfortunately I have some whacky ones… This was one of them, so I just went with it… Does fermenting at 16 degrees make it a steam beer, or a badly fermented lager? lol Who cares, this one has a lot of potential judging by the sample jars….
Not happy with just doing the one 30/30, during my easter Brewathon I did a second one, 2 days later. Clarify the process, check out some new hops… Seemed logical to me…
Okay, its been a while since I’ve had any time at all to do any posting on here, so while the little monster sits and eats his body weight in strawberries and grapes, I’m gonna stick some recipes up and let y’all know whats been happening in my brewing life…
After the relative success of the first iteration of my NEIPA type of ale thing, I’ve decided to do a version 2 but need some help with the design…
