NZ Hopped Steam Lager

This is an experimental recipe I’ve done to see whether these hops work with this style. Its gonna end up being a kind of steam hybrid, as its a little bit hoppier than normal, but I’m hoping the relatively simple clean base will allow the hops to shine quite brightly.

15 g – Motueka, Type: Leaf/Whole, AA: 7, Use: Boil for 20 min, IBU: 7.34
15 g – Rakau, Type: Leaf/Whole, AA: 11.5, Use: Boil for 20 min, IBU: 12.05
20 g – Motueka, Type: Leaf/Whole, AA: 7, Use: Dry Hop for 5 days
20 g – Rakau, Type: Leaf/Whole, AA: 11.5, Use: Dry Hop for 5 days

MASH GUIDELINES:
1) Sparge, Temp: 66 C, Time: 60 min, Amount: 17.5 L, Sparge with 16L @ 70
Starting Mash Thickness: 3.5 L/kg

OTHER INGREDIENTS:
0.25 each – Protofloc Tablet, Time: 15 min, Type: Fining, Use: Boil

  1. It’s being bottled this weekend. The 30/30 APA is being bottled tonight… need to put that recipe up as well with a full breakdown… Seems like a legit thing to do at 5am when you can’t sleep.
